Village Hall Code of Conduct

Sheriff Hutton Village Hall is dedicated to providing a harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof).

We do not tolerate bullying or harassment of hirers, committee members, trustees, or visitors to the hall or any event participants in any form.

Harassment and bullying includes offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing, or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. If someone engages in harassing behaviour, the chair or board of trustees may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, or expulsion from visiting the premises, or in some instances reporting to the police.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a Trustee or Committee member immediately.
