Wedding receptions at the Village Hall

Set within beautiful countryside, with Richard III’s castle as backdrop, Sheriff Hutton Village hall makes a uniquely attractive venue for a party.

Your wedding reception at Sheriff Hutton Village Hall can be as formal or informal as you like. It’s your special day and we aim to be as flexible and accommodating as possible so you can tailor everything to suit your vision and budget.

Facilities

With its many windows and high ceilings, our main hall is light and airy. Painted in neutral colours, think of it as a blank canvas for you to decorate as you wish. String up lights, bunting, flowers and balloons – be as creative as you like.  Towards the playing field, the main hall opens onto a paved area, which is ideal for outside drinks or a hog roast.  On the other side of the hall is a children’s play area – great for keeping little ones entertained.  We also have a good sized car park. 

We have a well-equipped kitchen with a catering sized oven and stove, mains hot-water boiler, double sinks, large fridge and microwave – everything you need whether you choose to provide all the food or bring in external caterers.

Tables and chairs are included in the hire and in our bright and airy main hall we can accommodate 142 people around tables. The adjoining side room, opens out as a bar connecting to the main hall and also can be used for additional seating or alternatively it is a popular area for buffet tables.

If the party gets loud, the smaller committee room can be used as a quieter seating space. The two changing rooms are also at your disposal.

Entertainment

If you have a band, we have stage and adjustable lighting. Stage lighting is included in the wedding packages and it is advisable to arrange to come in a few days beforehand to let us know how you would like the lights set up.

If you wish to charge for alcoholic drinks, a ‘Temporary Event Licence’ is required. These can be purchased from Ryedale district council. Further information on purchasing a licence can be found at www.Ryedale.gov.uk.

Following a recent wedding reception at the hall, we received the following e-mail:

"Sheriff Hutton Village Hall was the perfect venue for our Wedding reception in May 2015. Having a beautiful backdrop of the castle, the large hall allowed us to seat 120 guests and it looked spectacular once dressed with bunting and large round tables with centre pieces. We made full use of all the facilities including the stage, kitchen, bar and side rooms. All the people I contacted when hiring the hall were very helpful. It was great to have the freedom to come and go when we wanted and choose all our own suppliers for the catering, DJ & bar. We were very lucky to have lovely weather and were able to use the outdoor space. There is loads of parking space and accommodation close by. Zara and Tom, Bride and Groom 2015.
