A presentation by Rosalind Batchelor
"Grove Terrace - a legacy of Robert and Mary Cattle".
We warmly welcome Rosalind to speak of her research into the work of Robert and Mary Cattle. Robert Cattle was born in Sheriff Hutton. In 1767 he married Mary Brough and together they were instrumental in the development of Grove Terrace in York. Robert was a silversmith by trade and in 1840/41 served as Lord Mayor of York, both he and Mary are buried in Sheriff Hutton churchyard. Descendents of Robert are still living in the village. Rosalind will talk about their life and the legacy they left to the community.
A fascinating account not to be missed. Entrance on the door: Members free Visitors £3 inc refreshments. Contact Meg 07732008557
